Ohio Fire Safety Coalition Presents $35,000
to
Akron Children’s Hospital

On Tuesday, October 9th the Ohio Fire Safety Coalition (OFSC) presented a $35,000 donation check to Akron Children's Hospital. The donation was given during "Fire Safety Week". The donation came as a result of the 3rd Annual Ohio Fire Safety Coalition Burn Invitational. In just three years the OFSC has raised $95,000 for Akron Children’s Hospital.

OFSC donates to Akron Children's HospitalThe OFSC Burn Invitational, held on August 11th, was coordinated by the Ohio Fire Safety Coalition. The coalition’s purpose is to inform the public about fire safety and the life-saving value of residential fire sprinkler systems. The benefit raised funds for the Akron Children’s Hospital Burn Center. A portion of the proceeds will also go to benefit Akron Children’s Hospital Cancer Center. Specific programs within the burn center that will be funded include: education and prevention, research and patient support, equipment, as well as the ACBC Burn Camp for Kids. In addition a portion of the money raised has been distributed to the Cancer Center which provides research.

The OFSC Burn Invitational included a 4-man golf scramble tournament at Glenmoor Country Club in Canton, Ohio followed by both a silent and live auction. The auction and evening event was emceed by "Angela" from WKDD. The day and evening fundraising efforts raised $35,000 for the above mentioned charitable causes.
