National kickoff for Campus Fire Safety Month
Join us!
On Wednesday, September 12, 2007 from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Kent State University will be the site for the national kickoff for Campus Fire Safety Month. This event will feature a number of activities, including:
- Sprinkler trailer demonstrations
- Smoke trailer demonstrations
- Fire extinguisher training
- Mock-up room burns
At approximately 12:00 p.m., two mockups of student rooms will be set on fire, one sprinklered and one unsprinklered, to demonstrate how fast a fire can spread and how effective sprinklers are in controlling fires.
A press conference will be held featuring Doug and Linda Turnbull, who lost their daughter, Julie, in a tragic fire at Miami University.
